Highland Avenue Community Church of the Nazarene in Rancho Cucamonga, California

A Message from Rev. Phil Hamner

Rebecca, Evan, and I are excited to begin a new journey of ministry with you…

Dear Church Family,
Greetings in the strong name of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Rebecca, Evan, and I are excited to begin a new journey of ministry with you, starting Easter Sunday.  When we received the news of a favorable vote and election as your pastoral family, we felt so very honored.  We have already fallen in love with the people and ministry of Highland Ave. Community Church of the Nazarene!  We are convinced God has great things for us to do together in the years ahead.
All of this joy, enthusiasm, and excitement for ministry must begin in worship. So, I am excited to join you for Easter worship.  Let our hearts be united in prayer, praise, and celebration of the risen Savior.  He is our hope.  He is our Life.  He is our Promise.  He is alive! Our worship will be incomplete without you.  I hope you are making plans now to join us at one of our Easter worship services at 9:30am or 11:00am.
As well, my family thanks you for welcoming us so well.  Please don’t be offended if we ask your name a few more times. We promise you we are trying to learn names as quickly as possible.  One last thing:  Easter is a great day to bring a friend to church.   Besides the great music and exciting worship, we will hear the greatest message ever told.  Wouldn’t you want your friends to hear and respond.  I know I do.
As we enter Holy Week, we will walk with Jesus through his final meal with his disciples; his night of prayer in the Garden; and his crucifixion on Calvary. We must make that journey, or Easter has no meaning.  Join me in preparing for the Resurrection by faithfully following Jesus to the dark places, too.  It will be worth the journey.  Our lives depend on it!
See you Easter Sunday!
Grace and Peace,
Pastor Phil Hamner
