An Important Change
We have decided to move to one service at 10am…
After feedback and further conversation we have decided to move to one service at 10am starting on Sunday, March 1st, the first Sunday of Lent. Below you will find more information about this change.
For the last several months the church board has been discussing how best to staff and plan our Sunday morning worship and discipleship opportunities. As you know for some time we have had two worship services, 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. Church leadership has felt a strong need to develop more discipleship opportunities for all ages, especially children and youth. In our January board meeting, we prayerfully concluded that we should move to one worship service as a regular practice, and provided 2 or 3 service times as needed on holidays. Here are some of the very important reasons why we have come to this conclusion:
• There is an enthusiasm and energy when we are all worshiping together that cannot be found otherwise.
• Currently, we have grown by 20%+ over last year in worship. If we continue to grow at that rate in the next year, we will need a second service soon.
• We are planning to offer children’s discipleship; continue youth discipleship; and launch new adult discipleship opportunities on Sunday morning, as well.
Between now and then, I look forward to hearing your thoughts, ideas, and suggestions for how to make this a great success. We are ONE in Christ! Let’s share this ministry joy in every way together!
