An Unseen Reality

ww-unseenrealityThe fog slowly creeps across the sky

Damp and dense before our eyes

Twinkling stars slipping quickly from view

One by one, obliterated and defused

The moon with its soft gentle glow

Obscured as the dense haze grows

Engulfed, surrounded by its grasp

Hidden and unseen from eyes at last

And yet, subtle light still reflects the moon’s rays

Bouncing off the fog and the drifting haze

Sun, moon and stars, unseen but shining fair

Gone from view, albeit, still there

An “unseen” reality!

Observe and see the “unseen” all around;

Like a buried seed growing underground?

The birds hidden in lush foliage in the trees

Unseen but heard singing their song of glee.

Tiny gnats dancing across the lawn in the dead of night

Only illuminated and seen in the radiant sun’s light

Obscure in the womb, a baby growing into a child

For nine months hidden but there all the while

Oxygen filling our expansive atmosphere

Sounds in the airwaves reaching our ears

All invisible to the naked eye

But just as real as earth and sky

An “unseen” reality!

Every day, the physical realm surrounds us

Sustained by the unseen Creator of the whole universe

Invisible to our eyes, God still remains the same

Revealing His majesty, His greatness to proclaim

Heavenly realms unperceived by the naked eye

Distant galaxies and stars, our imagination to defy

Heaven and its glory, our unseen destination

A promised reality beyond man’s comprehension

Our future hope, our abode with God

Foretold to us in God’s Holy Word

Beyond our mere ability to physically see

But accepted by faith alone, God’s promise to believe

An “unseen” reality!

For a Christian’s life is based on unswerving faith

Not as the world sees, not at the world’s pace

To know that God’s angels are encompassed round about

To trust God’s Word without any doubt

To know that the Holy Spirit dwells within us

Giving each and every life, a plan and a purpose

To know His love, surrounded by His presence and care

Saved by grace with an inheritance beyond compare

And in the midst of heartache and trouble

God gives us His comfort so we do not stumble

In the face of trials, God upholds us with His unseen hand

Protecting us and allowing us to boldly stand

An “unseen” reality!

And lest we not forget, Christ Jesus, God’s only begotten Son

Who on the Cross, our salvation for us hath won.

Can we fully understand or see with mere mortal eyes,

The justification from sin that only He provides?

Or fully understand, God’s free gift of forgiveness and grace

Christ taking our punishment, dying in our place

The relationship we share with the King of all kings

The oneness with Christ and the peace that it brings

Unseen realities to our world all around

But in Christ there is hope and a peace to be found.

A daily assurance of His love and His tender care

That He intimately knows us and hears our every prayer.

An “unseen” reality!

And when our earthly lives come to an end

God has promised us eternal life, oneness with Him

Do we believe in God’s promises which His Word foretells?

Does our faith trust God with our future hope as well?

For faith is essential in believing what is not seen.

Faith trusts, hopes, believes and on Him leans.

Even when all is hidden before our eyes

God reigns supreme on heavenly high!

For He is greater than what man’s mind can perceive

Majestic and sovereign beyond mere human belief

May we worship the great “I AM” with our songs of praise

And exalt the “Unseen One” for all our days!

He is our “unseen” reality!

· II Corinthians 5:7 – We live by faith, not by sight.
· Hebrews 4:13 – Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
· Hebrews 11:1, 6 – Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see…And without faith it is impossible to please God,…
