We continue our time in the Old Testament and go back to looking at the attitude of the heart. Cain and Able will once again illustrate to us that we can know what God finds to be an acceptable offering or gift in God’s sight. God’s Word provides us the answer.  Ephesians 5:15-17 (NCV):

“15 So be very careful how you live. Do not live like those who are not wise, but live wisely. 16 Use every chance you have for doing good, because these are evil times. 17 So do not be foolish but learn what the Lord wants you to do.”

Paul continues to teach the truths that are found in the Cain and Able story. Paul encourages the Church in Ephesus to watch the actions of their lives, but also the motivation of their heart. We will continue to peer deeper into this idea.
