We have been talking about how to strengthen our good relationships, how to heal our bad ones and how to deal with the people in our lives that really push our buttons.
This week were dealing with “Escaping The People-Pleaser Trap.” The need to please people is a trap that causes us to do a real number on ourselves. We are so afraid of losing the approval of others that it makes us miserable!
This need to get the approval of others can become an addiction. It’s one of the most common destroyers of happiness. If you live to please other people you’ll miss the gifts and the purposes God has for you.
So this week we’re going to look at why fearing what other people think… their disapproval and their rejection of your life, is a trap! Then we’re going to consider several antidotes for people-pleasers.
King Solomon addressed this problem in Proverbs 29:25 (NLT) where when he said,
“Fearing people is a dangerous trap, but trusting the LORD means safety.”
Join us as we talk about escaping the people-pleaser trap by making sure that God’s opinion matters more than that of anyone else.
