We look at 2 Corinthians 5:16-21 and what Paul has to say to the struggling believers of the church of Corinth, a major city that was socially and economically diverse and a center for commercial activity, entertainment, sports, and idol worship. Really not much different from the area we live in. All these outside influences were chipping away at their faith, causing division and bitterness in their relationships with each other. When Paul, their founding pastor, heard of this he sent them a message reminding them of the hope that they have in Christ and how the Holy Spirit has transformed them from sinners into God’s righteous people. This powerful reminder of what it means to live a transformed life is as timely for us as it was for the church at Corinth.
