In our series on “Building Relationships,” we have been talking about how to strengthen our good relationships, how to heal our bad ones and how to deal with the people in our lives that really push our buttons.
This message, “More Jesus, Less Religion,” is about Christians who are doing and saying crazy things in the name of religion.
We easily get our faith confused concerning what God has promised… what He actually does… and what He wants us to do. We’re going to talk about how that confusion happens.
Then we will talk about our faith as it’s practiced in the vital relationships that we have… whether it’s a relationship with a parent, child, spouse or somebody else in our lives.
This message will help you examine some ideas that are really toxic to our faith and how those outside of the family of God view us. Jesus is our one solution for toxic faith. We will look at several characteristics of healthy faith as we see them modeled by Jesus.
The writer to the Hebrews gave us this goal and standard for healthy faith in Hebrews 12:2b (GNT)
“Let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from beginning to end.”
