This week we begin a new message series entitled, “Building Relationships.” We’re going to talk about how to strengthen our good relationships, how to heal our bad ones and how to deal with the people in our lives that really push our buttons.
We all have people in our lives that irritate us. How do you deal with those people? Most of the time, if you do what you naturally feel like doing in a relationship, it’s almost always the wrong thing!
Many times we provoke people to do the very behavior we don’t want. They react in the exact opposite way of what we hoped. So you need wisdom. Wisdom doesn’t get rid of your problems, but wisdom definitely minimizes them.
We begin by looking at “Wisdom For Peaceful Relationships.” James 3:13-18 is the classic passage on wisdom in relationships. We will focus specifically on James 3:17 (NLT):
“But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere.”
In a world where countries, communities and families are being stressed and torn because of relationship problems, this series promises to offer help and hope as we seek to find God’s wisdom for our relationships.
