On Sunday we will continue our series called, “What Following Jesus Means.” We’re looking at five words that describe what it means to be a follower. So far we have looked at:
- and “ambassador.”
This week in a message entitled, “We Are God’s Family,” we will explore what it means to be God’s family in light of the first church in Jerusalem. The account of their practices provides direction for our large and small group experiences as followers of Jesus.
Following Jesus is far more that just believing. It also includes belonging. In Romans 12:5 (NIV) Paul writes,
“So in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others…”
If you’re a follower of Jesus you don’t just belong to God, you also belong to every other believer and they belong to you. Paul went even further when he said in Galatians 6:10b (NIV),
“Let us do good to all people, especially those who belong in the family of believers.”
Join us as we learn more about what it means to be a part of God’s family and the strength it offers to each follower of Jesus every day!
