Every year, Highland Avenue Community Church organizes a spring car show that raises money for the youth ministry.

In years past, the car show has provided full and partial scholarships to youth going on mission trips, and camps. In addition, the car show continues to help reduce the cost of these trips year after year.

The Car Show Planning Committee is currently seeking individuals to join the 9th Annual Planning Committee.

Car Show Planning Committee Available Volunteer Positions:

  • Public Relations Coordinator
  • Donations & Sponsorships Coordinator
  • Vehicle Registration Coordinator
  • Vendors & Exhibitors Coordinator
  • Entertainment & Activities Coordinator
  • Logistics Coordinator
  • Volunteer Coordinator

Car Show Planning Committee – Position Descriptions

» Public Relations Coordinator

  • • Promote the event to the church congregation and to the public.
  • • Distribute marketing materials via social media, online, church events, and public events including other car shows.
  • • Write and send press releases.
  • • Conduct other duties as assigned.

» Sponsorships Coordinator

  • • Write and send donation request letters to retail establishments, businesses, and other establishments. Items donated are then raffled during the event.
  • • Write and send sponsorship letters to businesses.
  • • Work with the Director and committee to create a “Sponsorship Opportunities” sheet.
  • • Meet with sponsors and finalize agreements.
  • • Conduct other duties as assigned.

» Vehicle Registration Coordinator

  • • Approve and process pre-registration of show vehicles.
  • • Coordinate vehicle registration at the event including supervising volunteers.
  • • Lead counting of show vehicle voting ballets during the event.
  • • Conduct other duties as assigned.

» Vendors & Exhibitors Coordinator

  • • Approve and process vendor applications.
  • • Coordinate vendor set-up/take-down at the event.
  • • Supervise and visit with vendors to ensure vendor policy is being followed and that vendors’ needs are met.
  • • Conducts other duties as assigned.

» Entertainment & Activities Coordinator

  • • Schedule master of ceremonies (MC), musical entertainment, and honor guard.
  • • Coordinate and schedule activities (i.e. bounce house, game booths, potato sack race) for the Kids’ Fun Zone.
  • • Conduct other duties as assigned.

» Volunteer Coordinator

  • • Recruit and schedule volunteers for the event.
  • • Coordinate with commitee members to determine staffing needs.
  • • Check-in/Sign-out volunteers at the event.
  • • Indirectly supervise volunteers.
  • • Reassign volunteers depending on event needs.
  • • Conduct other duties as assigned.
