A summer of neglect!

The garden is a mess!

The roses need mulching and fertilizing

Trimming out the dead and dried up blossoms

The ground cover is overgrown

The flower beds have weeds of all different varieties

Old plants need pulling

New plants need to be planted for fall

Trees and bushes trimmed

Old dried-up fruit picked up off the ground

And the list goes on and on and on!

To look upon all the chores needing to be done

A seemingly insurmountable task

Step by step

One task at a time

Day by day

Achieving what the Lord desires me to do for this day!

Appreciating God’s natural splendor in the garden

Taking courage

Getting to work

Achieving it bit by bit

Being grateful and thankful at the results

Looking forward with anticipation

A harvest of great worth!

A garden restored in beauty!

Doesn’t God want to do the same for us?

Restore us in beauty before the throne of grace!

Even when we have been neglectful

Leaving the path of His will

When we are lost in sin; walking away

Our spiritual life dried-up and dead

Overgrown with weeds

Needing to purge our lives of what is displeasing to the Lord

Confessing our sin and neglect

Returning to the Lord with a whole heart

In repentance

Receiving God’s forgiveness and grace

But oft-times

We look upon our lives with contempt and disgust

Feeling unworthy of God’s saving touch

Beyond His forgiveness and love

Having a fatalistic attitude

With an inability to change and come to Him

God is love!

There is “no one” beyond His grace and ability to restore.

He has provided a Way toward restoration!

Christ Jesus, the Savior of our soul!

Take courage!

Christ has achieved for us salvation and reconciliation.

He has restored us by His death upon the Cross!

And able to restore the years that the locust have eaten!

All the past is covered by His atoning sacrifice.

“It is finished!”

When He shed His precious blood for us!

We are cleansed, forgiven and made righteous in His eyes!

Able to walk in newness of life

Restored to fellowship and in rightness with the Father

Oh, that we would have a grateful heart.

Thankful for the new life we have been given

Looking with anticipation for Christ’s return

Life eternally with the Father

For we are restored and beautiful in His eyes!
